Proverbs 27:19

“As water reflects a face, so a man’s heart reflects the man”

I love the simplicity of this statement.  When you look in the water you see a face. When you look at a heart you see the man.  This is almost too easy to read because to wrap your mind around the thought is a bit tougher.  I have iphoto on my computer and any picture that i have in the program can be edited to my liking.  Water doesn’t work the same way. It is what it is.  What you see is what you look like.  There’s no getting tanner or tightening up the facial features.  But when you see a heart you don’t just see the heart, you see the man.  What kinds of things are in the heart of man? Character, personality, Integrity (or lack there of), Vision, determination.  When we expose our hearts to people they see who we really are.  Exposing our hearts to others starts with us, but we have nothing to do with exposing our hearts to God.  He sees and knows our heart.  He know the man that i am.  Just something i cam across during my study time and thought i would share.  I think we need to remember that what’s in our face is physical and what is in our hearts is spiritual.
